S.S. Meteor Liability Release and Waiver Form

The last seven years we put this Project together, we had a great turn out. We broke a record of 70 plus volunteers in 2008. We have an average of 50 plus people helping out on this event! The folks from the Superior's Public Museum's Board of Directors were very appreciative with the efforts of all the organizations that helped on this event to make it successful! Let’s try doing the same or better this year!

Here is a tentative list of tasks we need to perform:

1. Housekeeping / Cleaning.
2. Clean and treat cloths lockers and under beds in crews quarters.
3. Continue cleaning insulation from crews quarters drawers and lockers

4. Continue Painting lower engine room. (Remove oil Barrel).

5. Final coat of paint in Rudder room.

6. Complete painting interior rear turret stairways.

7. Continue cleaning porthole sills and paint.

8. Paint forward deck as instructed.

9. Service air compressor.  Make sure it’s ok , change oil, drain moisture, start and run, check for any leaks.
10. Cement in front of main door to inside ship has shafted and doors not able to be opened all the way.                      What can we do??
11. Check swivel on vent to engine room to see if it is still allowing water to get into the starboard side engine room.  Re-Caulk or weld it shut.
12. Replace Glass in two port holes – glass was donated.
13. Remove Life boats and repair or rebuild mounts. (weather Permitting)
14. Clean exhibit case glass, inside and out.

15. Clean crews’ quarters, make beds, etc.

16. Install solenoid on air piping to compressor for ship whistle.

17. Weld new metal in various other rusted areas of the ship.

18. Welding more rust holes. Weld a hasp on the previsions loading hatch cover.
19. Repair band around smoke stack.  (Broken Bolt)
20. Make and Install climbing guard / restriction on smoke stack ladder.

The large list of tasks continues to grow as the project draws near.
